“I love the sensuous look of roots, leaves, grasses and bones. I absolutely love painting the details of what I see. It’s really a form of meditation for me.”

Juleen Stacy was born in Northern Virginia. She graduated from Mary Washington College with a BA in Studio Art, then went to work for a textile designer in the DC Metropolitan area. Her work was seen in collections produced by such prestigious names such as, F. Schumacher & Co., St. Clair, Bard, Avon, Lenox and others.

She worked as an event coordinator in DC for several years putting her creativity into lively events for the corporate and private sector. She finally returned to her first love, painting, just a few years ago. She started out painting strictly botanical art but has since branched out to include a variety of still-life subjects. Her work is produced using oil, acrylic, gouache (opaque watercolor), watercolor, pencil, encaustic, silverpoint and charcoal.”
