Michel Croteau educated to the classic and fascinated by the impressionist structure of the naked trees covered with snow, impressionism was her initial influence filling her innate desire to paint snow covering all types of landscapes. Living around the wonders of the great state of New Hampshire it is not hard for her to get inspired and capture its colors both in contemporary and emotional abstract landscapes. Painting is her passion, and she mostly uses acrylics for immediacy and spontaneity. In 1972 in Italy, she gained a Master of Art at the University of S.O. Benincasa with a thesis in History of Art and At UNH in 1996 a Master of Art. Michel’s paintings have been exhibited locally and internationally. In 2006 she painted the mural “Origami for Peace” in the Italian Riviera. The director of the open-air museum honored her with the silver medal of Buddhist symbol of peace. She lives in NH countryside where she can absorb and expresses into her work the nature colors and lights surrounding her studio. Besides her passion for painting Michel loves to write fiction and poetry.
